Submission of Entries
All entries must be submitted by no later than 7.15pm on the show evening.
You may wish to pre-prepare exhibits at home, as staging time (including washing, cutting, arranging etc) is limited as stated below.
There will be no entry fees nor prize money.
Timetable
Staging of members’ exhibits is between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. ** Deadline for entries is strictly 7.15pm. **
Judging will be by society members between 7.45pm and 8.30pm. All members may vote, including exhibitors, but exhibitors must not judge those show classes for which they have submitted entries.
Visitors are very welcome to view the exhibits but are not permitted to vote. Refreshments will be available from 8pm until 9pm. Presentation of awards will be at 9pm

Member of the society awarded most points in classes 1 to 23 (Horticultural)
Frank Tate Rose Bowl
Member of the society awarded most points in Rose classes (1 to 7)
Charles Edwards Trophy
Member of the society winning class 6 (Rose in three stages of development)
Moore Cup
Member of the society awarded most points in Sweet Pea classes (8 to 9)
Bert Rich Cup
Member of the society awarded most points in Perennial classes (13 to 14)
Classes
Section A - Roses
Class
1. One bloom, large flowered - pink
2. One bloom, large flowered - red variety
3. One bloom, large flowered - any other colour
4. Three blooms, large flowered – one variety
5. One spray, floribunda (cluster flowered)
6. One variety in three stages of development, 3 stems - fully open, show bloom and bud
7. One bloom, miniature rose, any colour

Section D - Vegetables
21. Rhubarb, three sticks tied, approx. 7.5cm (3 inch) leaf tops
22. Three different kinds of Vegetable – one of each kind, displayed together in a
standard seed tray (375x230mm)
23. Any Vegetable (please refer to booklet for quantities)
Section E - Flower Arrangement Off-white background

24. "Faux handtied in a basket" 60cm width & depth, height optional
25. "Two of a Kind" 60cm width & depth, height optional
26. "Floral jewellery" (competitors to use own method of display) 25cm width, 35cm height
NAFAS rules apply.
All Classes may be arranged at home or assembled in the hall as preferred.
All drapes and backing to be free-standing. Accessories may be used.
Natural plant material is to be used at all times, i.e. fresh, dried, preserved.
Section F - Special Society Class

27. Marigolds in flower, grown from 8 seeds provided by the Society (to be issued in January/February 2025)
Note: if flowers have already gone over, a photograph of them is acceptable

Section G - Photography
Class
28. Photograph of "A Single Red Flower" taken within the previous 12 months
One entry per person Maximum size of photograph 5 x 7 inches (13 x 18 cm). Photographs should be mounted on paper/card no larger than standard A5 (5.8 x 8.3 inches, 14.8 x 21 cm)
Entrant’s name must be written on back of mount. Each entry will be allocated a number, and velcro will be provided to attach entries to display boards and to attach number next to entry
A prize to be awarded to class winner.
Points Allocation for Annual Trophies
All classes (excluding special Society classes 27 & 28):
1st in class.......... 3 points
2nd in class ...... 2 points
3rd in class ........ 1 point
