Submission of Entries
All entries must be submitted by no later than 7.15pm on the show evening.
You may wish to pre-prepare exhibits at home, as staging time (including washing, cutting, arranging etc) is limited.
Horticultural exhibits requiring vases must use those provided by the society for fairness.
If you have any queries about the show, please contact the Show Secretary at least a week before the show
Timetable
6.30pm - 7.30pm - Staging of members' exhibits
7.15pm - Deadline for entries
7.45pm - 8.30pm Judging
8.30pm - Please move away from the show benches to allow calculation of winners
8.00pm - 9.00pm Refreshments will be available
Judging will be by society members between 7.45pm and 8.30pm. All members may vote, including exhibitors, but exhibitors must not judge those show classes for which they have submitted entries.
Visitors are very welcome to view the exhibits but are not permitted to vote. Refreshments will be available from 8pm until 9pm. Presentation of awards will be at 9pm

Denise Speller Trophy
Member of the society gaining most points in daffodil & narcissus classes (1 to 10)
Frank Tate Challenge Trophy
Member of the society gaining most points in classes 2,4 and 6
Edwards Trophy
Member of the society winning class 18 (mixed vase of spring flowers)
Lynn Frisby Trophy
Member of the society winning class 14 (three Tulips)
Definition of Daffodil and Narcissus categories for Section A (classes 1 to 10)
Trumpet: - Length of cup (corona) is equal to or longer than length of perianth segments
Large-Cup: - Length of cup (corona) is more than one-third but less than the length of, perianth segments.
Small Cup: - Length of cup (cororna) is one-third or less, of the length of perianth segments

Section A - Daffodils and Narcissi
(NB - Foliage:- Not more than THREE leaves may be placed in each vase for classes 1 to 10)
Class
1. One trumpet Daffodil
2. Three trumpet Daffodils - one variety
3. One large-cup Narcissus
4. Three large-cup Narcissi - one variety
5. One small-cup Narcissus
6. Three small-cup Narcissi - one variety
7. One stem of bunch-flowered Narcissus
8. Three double Daffodils - one variety
9. One flower or stem of any other kind of Daffodil or Narcissus
10 One pot or bowl of Daffodils or Narcissi
Section B - Other Plants
Class
11. Pansies, five blooms, displayed flat on card in a container of sand
12. Polyanthus, three stems
13. Tulip, one bloom
14. Tulip, three blooms - one variety
15. One pot plant in flower
16. One pot plant grown mainly for foliage
17. Flowering shrub or tree - not more than three sprays
18. Mixed vase of Spring flowers - up to five kinds - excluding shrubs and trees
19. Hellebores, five blooms floating on water
20. Any other flowering bulb, corm or rhizome not included in classes 1 to 16 - not more than five stems
Section C - Vegetables

22. "Box of Delights" An arrangement in a box - space allowed 60cm width & depth, height optional
23. "Afternoon Tea" space allowed 60cm width & depth, height optional
24. "In the Pink" (competitors to use own method of display) space allowed 25cm width, 35cm height
NAFAS rules apply.
All Classes may be arranged at home or assembled in the hall as preferred.
Drapes and backing to be free-standing. Accessories may be used.
Natural plant material is to be used at all times, i.e. fresh, dried, preserved.
Section F - Special Society Class

25. One Polyanthus Stella in flower, grow from plug plant issued by the Society in Autumn 2025
Note: if flowers have already gone over, a photograph of them is acceptable

Section G Photography
Class
26. Photograph of "A Carpet of Snowdrops" taken in 2026
One entry per person. Maximum size of photograph 5 x 7 inches (13 x 18 cm.) Photographs should be mounted on paper/card no larger than standard A5 (5.8 x 8.3 inches 14.8 x 21 cm). Entrant's name must be written on back of mount.
Each entry will be allocated a number and means will be provided to attach entries to display boards and to attach number next to entry.
A prize to be awarded.
